The Peebles Podiatrist Clinic

We provide a comprehensive range of podiatry services, including nail surgery, prescription orthotics and fungal nail assessment and treatment. Every new patient also receives a foot-pressure scan as part of their initial assessment.

For suspected fungal nails, we offer an in-clinic test that provides a result in approximately five minutes. Confirming whether a fungal infection is present is important because several other nail conditions can look very similar but require different treatment.

For confirmed and suitable cases, we offer a new treatment programme that has achieved a 100% success rate among the clinic’s patients treated to date. However, fungal nail treatment requires patience: even after the infection has been successfully treated, it can take up to a year for the affected nail to grow out fully and be replaced by a healthy-looking nail.

Our holistic approach focuses not only on treating the immediate problem, but also on identifying its underlying causes and helping to prevent future complications. Unlike many clinics, our fees are based on the appointment time required rather than the number of individual conditions treated. Although this can initially appear more expensive, it may prove more economical over the longer term.

We invest heavily in modern clinical technology. We use Heidi Health to assist with clinical documentation, provide AI chat support through our websites and use advanced foot-pressure scanning technology. Patients can view and discuss their scan results with their podiatrist on the consultation-room screen.

The clinics were founded and are owned by HCPC-registered podiatrist Ying Peng (CH28119), a nationally recognised specialist in foot care for people living with dementia. Ying is currently undertaking PhD research into diabetic foot care and how wider adoption of the clinic’s preventative approach could improve patient outcomes while delivering substantial savings for the NHS.

Ying works alongside experienced HCPC-registered podiatrist Kim Blair, helping the clinics provide professional, modern and preventative foot care in both Penicuik and Peebles.
